Public funding
Is it better to be part of a local project or to make an application in response to a European call? For the purchase of new machinery do I go for a state grant or for funding offered by the relevant provincial legislation? It is not easy to find your way among the various funding opportunities, to understand which fund or project “is right for you”.
We offer you an “Information desk” which welcomes the entrepreneur and tries to understand his real requirements and to point him towards specific instruments, indicating the relevant structures and departments. This guidance, which in some cases may also involve being accompanied personally, covers all three levels: provincial, national and European. The Autonomous Province of Trento in particular has developed a significant system of incentives and facilities to help companies.
Productive investment
Provincial Law no. 6/99 facilitates productive investments in both fixed and moveable property by small and medium companies, be they industrial, artisan, commercial, or tourist and tertiary sector cooperatives.
Large companies are admitted only in the "de minimis" category (200,000 Euros over three years). Percentage increases are granted to investments made by microbusinesses (companies working for the local market), investments in the environment and in replacement activities. In some specific cases the law may also facilitate participation loans for recapitalization, relocation expenses and reorganization, restructuring and conversion costs.
Technological research projects and patent purchase
Law 6/99 contemplates various forms of assistance for the promotion of research and development, and incentives for the costs of applied research. The Province of Trento also offers funding opportunities for research commissioned from public and private parties, and for initiatives aimed at promoting the spread of research through the temporary assignment of researchers and technicians. Contributions are also available for for the acquisition of patents.
Seed Money
This is a fund designed to promote the spread of business initiatives in innovative or high tech areas, and can be used to cover part of your start-up costs. Applications for assistance should be submitted to Trentino Sviluppo. The service that we provide consists of evaluating whether you satisfy the requisites and whether your expenditure items are admissible, and then granting the prescribed contribution if approved. We have two types of procedure for assessing proposals submitted: “over the counter” procedure (project proposals are examined in chronological order of submission); “call for applications” procedure (applications are collected and assessed on the basis of the requisites published in a specific call for applications).
Promotion of business quality
Provincial Law no. 17/93 provides for actions aimed at promoting the quality of businesses through partial absorption of costs relating to services acquired: incentives for certification, reorganization, reinforcing company functions (administrative, commercial, IT, etc.), initial assistance and check-up.
Personnel training
The Province of Trento offers access to grants for company personnel training and requalification costs, and organizes training and careers counselling courses for the labour market.
Marketing
The Province of Trento provides incentives for marketing projects aimed at promoting the products of Trentino companies on the single European market and beyond.
Hiring of workers from socially vulnerable groups
The Provincial Work Policy Plan envisages a series of incentives to reduce hiring costs when hiring workers from socially vulnerable groups.
