I3SME - Introducing Innovation Inside Sme
is aimed at developing and implementing the process of spreading innovation among small and medium enterprises by means of the benchmarking method. The idea is to analyse the efficiency and effectiveness of your company’s operation, comparing it to competitor companies and companies operating in similar fields, and identifying those differences, areas and activities which can be improved by transferring know-how and skills, and those which are already successful.
The project is funded by the Central European Territorial Cooperation Programme and coordinated by the Province of Bologna in conjunction with the Emilia Romagna Region CNA Innovation, of which the Province of Trento is a partner. The project is managed in Trentino by Trentino Sviluppo and the Trentino CEii “European Centre for Business and Innovation”. The network of partners covers a territory that comprises parts of Italy (the Emilia Romagna and Trentino Regions), Austria (Styria), Germany (Brandenburg), Poland (Silesia), Hungary (Pannonia) and Slovenia.
By means of a questionnaire issued by Trentino Sviluppo, the results of which are processed by a special software programme, a company can identify the value of its operations. The company’s market position can be compared – and therefore made more efficient – with other Italian and European companies according to various factors (e.g. size of company, field of operations, etc.).
The companies that perform the best can take part in a growth and development programme which provides an opportunity for international visibility by means of a special publication focused on the best project cases, as well as support in taking action to resolve the company’s critical points. Apart from the action featured in this project, we at Trentino Sviluppo can in any case assist the company in anlaysing its situation and in developing new, improved and more efficient organizational practices
