PAOLO MAZZALAI
- President
President of Trentino Sviluppo, and also Vice-President of the Trento branch of Confindustria (Italian Federation of Industries). He has developed particular skills in the field of engineering services and advanced design both in Italy and abroad with SWS Group S.p.A. and SWS Engineering S.p.A, of which he is legal representative and CEO respectively.
He graduated in Civil Engineering – Transport at the University of Padua in 1973, and since 1974 has been a member of the Trento Province Association of Engineers. He is also an associate professor of Applied Engineering at the University of Padua.

Vice-President
Vice-President of Trentino Sviluppo S.p.A., owner of the Tosi Serramenti Company, he has also served as provincial president of the Trento Province Association of Artisans and Small Business and as first President of CEII Trentino (Trentino European Centre for Enterprise and Innovation). Among the other offices he has held are member of the Confartigianato National Council, provincial president of Business Coordination, member of the Council of the Trento Province Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, president of Sapi, president of Caf, member of the Unicredit Committee, member of the Board of Directors of the Trentino Institute of Culture (today known as the Kessler Foundation), board member of Opes. Currently he is a board member of the Trento Province ENAIP schools and a board member of the Gardascuola at Arco.
PATRIZIA BALLARDINI

Director of Trentino Sviluppo S.p.A. with responsibility for “Territorial Marketing
”, Patrizia Ballardini gained sound managerial experience in the Barilla Group, where until 2005 she managed international development as Global Marketing Manager. In the last few years she has worked in the field of issues and instruments related to Territorial Development and has made her experience available to small and medium enterprises in the area, assisting them in their growth.
Since December 2007 she has been Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Pinzolo, with responsibility for Territorial Economy and Development, and has put all her enthusiasm and professional experience into serving the Community, concentrating particularly on the values of development sustainability, the central role of the individual, and the quality and culture of hospitality.
ALESSANDRO GAROFALO

Director with responsibility for “Innovation, business skills and development ”, for years he has been using his skills in support of Trentino businesses. A Physics graduate, with a Finmeccanica Master’s Degree in Energy Management in Industry from the University of Rome, Alessandro Garofalo acquired solid professional experience working on innovation with companies like Ansaldo and Eurequipe Italia, and innovative training with Galgano and Ambrosetti. He has further developed his skills in innovation-related issues through an intense consultancy and academic career. He is the owner of Idee Associate, a company which works in the field of managerial and creative new product-concept development training, he is president of the Trentino Alto Adige Quality Club and a member of the Bolzano Province Innovation Council. He teaches at the National Nuclear Physics Institute in Padua, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Verona, where he lectures on the Economics of Innovation, and for ten years he taught at the University of Trento (course in Product Development Strategy). He is also a teacher at the Cuoa Management School and at the Italian Navy Institute for Maritime Military Studies at the Venice Arsenal.
DIEGO LANER

Director with responsibility for “Company and property participation
”, Diego Laner has worked mainly in the field of multiutility companies, including positions as CEO and Corporate Area Manager. He has gained considerable professional experience in public administration, in finance-related professional associations and in industrial companies, and also as a business consultant with consultancy agencies, providing support for companies particularly in the area of extraordinary funding and development strategy.
He has served as a director or member of the Board of Auditors with a number of local companies, in some cases in an operational role.
In 1985 a Decree of the Minister of Finance appointed him as Tax Judge on the Trento 1st Level Tax Commission, and since 1995 he has been a member of the Register of Auditors
